Another shot of yesterday’s stacked, open faced sandwich. Only 3 elements. Basically. Sandwich on plate, tea in mug and placemat. I think getting in closer would be fun. To the point where things become abstract shapes. You have to struggle a little to tell what it is. I will try that soon.
What a lovely delicious combination. Italian bread, spicy mayo, red peppers, red onion, mushrooms, egg and Brie. A little rosemary and sea salt. Relish.
I hate it when I end up eating past 9:00. I should just skip it and have an apple. But there is something about sitting down and savoring good food and time that I can’t give up. I had a really long day. It was finish one job and go to the next. And then, I was bound and determined to exercise. If noting else. I knew everything would be better because of it. I used to swear by running. Said it kept me alive. It did. One can only be pulled so many ways though. The delicate balancing act we all try to navigate. Perfect. But there just can’t be everything all the time. So after all the must do’s I made this wonderful little variation of the stacked sandwich I often do. This time multi grain toast, spicy mayo, a sliced orange pepper, avocado, one egg frittata folded, topped with a thin slice of provolone, dill and sea salt. It was really good. I usually don’t leave the egg plain but I did this time. And layered everything underneath. What is also interesting about this was the one egg I used. Double yoke. That is so cool.
I did a photo shoot of my daughter Claire a couple of weeks ago. The goal was to get a nice head shot. Something that says “Trust Me”. We did that. Then slid into play as naturally as it was yesterday. We’ve done that a lot. Mostly my addiction. Love the documenting. The frozen moments in time. Creating stories. Moods and curiosity. You can see some more shots from this shoot at debrafadelyphotography.com.
Pixel and Lizzy love the garden window. There is always so much to see. Or maybe it just feels good to nap in the sun. Let the world go by. I love capturing their different expressions. Here is one of my favorites of Pixel. So serious, so attentive. Intense!
Kevin always kids that his cat is perfect, except for her white toe. All her little pads are black except one which is pink. Hence her nickname, little white toe.
B…I haven’t worn this dress for so long. I think my hair has gone from bouffant to afro. Oh well, I’m so looking forward to this evening.
K…The dress, It looks beautiful! But I can’t find my other red shoe for the life of me.
Both giggle incessantly. This…is going to be an interesting evening.
Wanted something good but quick for dinner Saturday evening. After all the errands and tasks of the day I didn’t want to think about it much. I got some Mahi Mahi burgers from trader joes and sautéed one in butter. Added open faced with heirloom spinach, red onions, mushrooms and pickles. Topped with cheddar. Rosemary, salt and paprika. Fantastic.
It was a ridiculously long week. And Saturday morning was no different. I had to have my car in early to have a headlight bulb replaced. Mine aren’t the easy kind. You actually have to really take things apart. Then somewhere soon after some Father’s Day shopping needed to happen. In between, I had just enough time for a rushed but delicious breakfast. Usually Saturday breakfast is a time for restoration but I had to do that on a short schedule this weekend. All things worked out well…but I was really hungry by the time I got done with the car. I knew I had some creme fresh, heirloom spinach, bella mushrooms and brie. Threw together a folded frittata and some toast. It was so lovely. As I finished the last bite the doorbell rang. It was mom. Let the shopping begin.
