Ocotopus by the Salt Lamp

As I stated earlier, I have dictated today MUST be a slow and easy day. My constitution demands, requires it. I am allowing myself to follow my whims. To stop so I can observe the world within and out. As I finished my last blog post and was perhaps going to get up and move to the next thing I looked at Lizzy napping by the salt lamp. Hung over my laptop and across the side of my desk, the extended legs, tail and head made me think of a tangled mess of octopus. Dark and reaching out everywhere. I knew this shot would be a good candidate for grunge, lots of color and mood. Unlike food shots which have to be rather straight on the processing side. I pumped it up and then threw on a filter. I love the result. It’s exactly like what it made me see when I first looked at her and the composition just jumped out at me.

Turned sideways is an interesting perspective. Those long octopus tentacles hanging down.

Lizzy is an octopus.
